During this course, we will explore the therapeutic application of Thai Massage in alignment with the five elements of Chinese Medicine. Each day, we will focus on one element—Water, Earth, Metal, Fire, or Wood—delving into its corresponding internal organs, meridians, acupoints, and associated practices. Thai Massage sequences will be used to address imbalances within each element.
Our journey will also lead us into the emotional body, pathological conditions, nutritional therapy, and herbal remedies. We will deepen our elemental awareness through ceremony, meditation, movement, touch, Qi Gong, and breathwork. By integrating the wisdom of the Tao with both static and dynamic Thai Massage techniques, we can tonify or disperse energy, correct deficiencies and excesses, and restore harmony to the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies.
We will explore the unique qualities of each element through the way we touch—applying air, water, earth, and fire touch techniques—to help rebalance the body’s natural energies.
Perhaps most importantly, this work nurtures a sense of community. As we learn to give and receive, we connect more deeply with ourselves and one another through the transmission of ancient wisdom and initiation into timeless Buddhist teachings and prayers.

Many of us—and many of our clients—carry physical, metabolic, and emotional trauma. Trauma creates stress and tension in the body, reducing its natural adaptability and capacity for self-healing. Over time, the body’s buffering systems and its ability to adapt and self-regulate in response to internal and external influences can become compromised. This may lead to pain, restricted movement, emotional challenges, reduced vitality, and diminished awareness.
In this course, we learn to sense, feel, listen, and palpate the body’s systems—locally, regionally, and globally. Through mindful Thai massage, integrated with osteopathic and cranial principles, approaches, and techniques, we cultivate a deep understanding of how tissues, fluids, and the whole living system respond to stress and trauma. We also learn how to work skillfully to support release, restore freedom, and encourage balance.
Our intention is to support adaptability and homeostasis within the organism. By reducing stress and restoring balance, we help create the conditions for healing, growth, and a more vital, conscious, and embodied life.

In many massage traditions, the abdomen is treated only superficially or avoided altogether—yet it houses our most vital organs and is considered the seat of the emotional brain, an energy center, and a particularly sensitive area of the body. Conscious, mindful work with the abdomen can initiate profound processes of healing and regulation.
In this course, we learn to palpate, understand, and enter into dialogue with the abdomen. By recognizing the emotional, physical, and energetic aspects of the internal organs, space is created for balance, healing, and self-regulation. Central elements of the course are mindful touch, presence, and trust in one’s own intuition.
The course combines manual and energetic techniques such as craniosacral work, Chi Nei Tsang, TaoTouch CNT, Osteothai, Thai abdominal massage, and Mayan abdominal massage. It is designed for both beginners in therapeutic touch and experienced bodyworkers who wish to deepen and expand their practice. A willingness for self-exploration and inner reflection is required.

Dynamic techniques using the feet are applied to distribute energy throughout the body. This intensive and inspiring retreat opens the door to the universe of Osteothai. At its core are the osteopathic principles on which all Osteothai techniques are based.
Enhancing joint mobility of the upper and lower limbs
(ankle, knee, hip joint, shoulder, elbow, and wrist)
The joint system is often overlooked in Thai massage. While we usually work around the joint—mainly with the tendinous system—the joint itself is often not treated directly.
Osteopathy helps to release energy blocked within the joints. The energy that is freed supports the body in regaining vitality and using it for faster regeneration. This course enables participants to develop a more precise quality of touch and a deeper understanding of joint biomechanics.
We explore each joint of the upper and lower limbs individually. Movement and mobility—central themes in osteopathy—are at the heart of the work, together with rhythm, coordination, and joint integrity. In this course, you will gain clear techniques and effective tools to treat and mobilize joints such as the ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, wrist, and elbow.
Course Content
Restoring joint mobility
Principles of general joint treatment
Active vs. passive treatment approaches
Working with axes
Integration of center and periphery
This retreat combines solid theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice and creates a supportive and inspiring learning environment in which participants can expand their skills and deepen their practice.

We are affiliated with the Sunshine Network, the most recognised and biggest Thaimassage school worldwide. To teach our courses we were able to engage Takis from Greece, who is coming exclusively for Thaimassage Vacanza to Switzerland. Takis studied with many great masters in Thailand. With his distinctive, compassionate and happy style, he is one of the most experienced and popular Thaimassage teachers throughout Europe. He will be supported by 5-8 experienced assistants – all of them with yearlong experience in yoga, bodywork and teaching.

Thaimassage Vacanza Beginners Retreat
a 9-day course in traditional thai-yoga-massage for beginners
Costs: CHF 1’950.00 all inclusive (teachings, manual, vegetarian food and accommodation)
Location: Ferienheim Region Fraubrunnen, Erliweg 5, CH – 3778 Schönried
Open for all interested, also beginners: In this course for beginners we learn sequences and techniques for a 2 hour treatment of Thai-Yoga-Massage.
The course travels day by day from the feet to the head, gradually forming a complete thai-yoga-massage based on the stretches and acupressure as taught by thai massage master Asokananda. A large part of the course, supported by sessions of meditation, yoga and tai-chi, emphasizes the importance of the spiritual connection and intuition we develop through massage.
The course is held in English and is for both beginners and practitioners of other kinds of bodywork. There are no prerequisites for the course – everybody can do it and everybody is welcome. We learn techniques to do a full body two hour massage.
Thai-yoga-massage techniques can be effectively integrated into other therapy disciplines such as shiatsu, remedial massage or physiotherapy meaning the course offers the opportunity for therapists of other massage styles to improve and broaden their skills.
