Training with Osteo-Pat for Therapists
Patrick is a massage, shiatsu, and Thai massage therapist who has completed osteopathy training. He brings a comprehensive understanding of manual treatment techniques for both parietal and visceral therapy, which he shares with therapists in his workshops. Patrick aims to equip therapists with practical skills directly applicable to their daily work in his courses. The biomechanical knowledge and techniques for visceral and parietal therapy taught by him can be seamlessly integrated into existing treatment modalities, enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness.
Our offering is structured into eight modules. Each module covers a specific topic. Instruction includes theory with anatomical and biomechanical fundamentals, as well as practical sessions covering examination, safety tests, technique demonstrations, and hands-on practice in small groups.
The modules can be attended individually. Each year, 2-4 modules are offered. A module takes place either as a full-day session (Saturdays, 9 AM – 6 PM with a 1-hour lunch break) or as two half-day sessions (Saturdays, 9 AM – 1 PM).
Our courses are recognized as continuing education by EMR and ASCA.
The course fee per module (8 hours of teaching) is CHF 250.00 and must be paid upon registration for the course.

The course series consists of the following 8 modules:
Module 1: Pelvic Joints
Satuday, 9.11.2024 (9-18h) – next date to follow
Parietal Techniques for Hip/SIJ/PSIS/Lumbo-sacral Transition
The pelvis serves as the foundation of the spine. Restricted mobility of the pelvic girdle affects the statics of the spine and legs, as well as the functionality of pelvic organs. We will closely examine troublemakers such as the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) and the iliopsoas. Techniques will be taught to identify restrictions and improve mobility.
Module 2: Pelvic Organs
February 2025 – Date to follow
Visceral Techniques for Pelvic Organs: Uterus, Bladder, Kidney, Prostate, Cecum, Sigmoid
Fascial adhesions restrict the functionality of pelvic organs and influence the mobility and position of the pelvis and spine, leading to conditions such as twisted pelvis, menstrual issues, incontinence, and constipation. Techniques will be taught to identify these adhesions and improve mobility.
Module 3: Abdominal Organs
May 2025 – Date to follow
Visceral Techniques for Digestive Organs and Intestines: Stomach/Spleen/Liver/Pancreas/Small Intestine/Colon
Similar to pelvic organs, fascial adhesions in the digestive organs can impair digestion and slow down, also causing lower back pain. Techniques will be taught to identify and release these adhesions to improve mobility and functionality.
Module 4: Thorax and Organs
Spring 2025 – Date to follow
Sedentary posture at the office desk is detrimental to thoracic mobility and can result in chest discomfort, shoulder, and neck issues. Mobilizations will be taught to realign the thoracic spine and ribs, mobilize the diaphragm to improve breathing, and release fascial adhesions affecting the suspension of the heart and lungs to enhance blood circulation.
Module 5: Lower and Upper Extremities
Autumn 2025 – Date to follow
Foot/Knee/Shoulder/Elbow/Hand
Feet serve as the foundation of the body, misalignments and blockages can affect up to the neck. Knees often develop adhesions after surgeries (meniscus/ligaments) causing discomfort. The shoulder, the most mobile joint in our body, poses challenges and is complex to treat. Computer work and texting strain our elbows and finger joints leading to conditions like tennis elbow, forearm issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, and finger pain.
Hence, there’s much to address. Techniques will be taught to fine-tune the shoulder, mobilize the wrist joints, and release forearm fascia.
Module 6: Mobilizations + Manipulations of Lumbar and Thoracic Spine
Winter 2026 – Date to follow
The spine, with its many facet joints, is highly mobile and can be significantly affected by blockages leading to conditions like sciatica, pelvic misalignment, organ issues, breathing difficulties, and recurrent back pain. Segments and the relationship between organs and the spine, and vice versa, will be examined.
We will mobilize the lumbar and thoracic spine to restore mobility and approach high-impulse techniques to efficiently release these blockages.
Module 7: Mobilization + Manipulation of Neck + Cranial Joints
January 2025 – Date to follow
Restricted mobility of cervical vertebrae can lead to various issues in the neck-shoulder-head region and is often the cause of headaches and jaw problems. Neural supply to the diaphragm and most chest and abdominal organs comes from the neck – thus, it’s crucial to pay attention to this area and liberate it with fascial and high-impulse techniques. Additionally, the neck is the cause of thoracic outlet syndrome with tingling sensations in the arm, which will be examined and treated in detail.
Module 8: Fascial Cause-Effect Chains / Circulatory System
Autumn 2026 – Date to follow
Fascial tension and adhesions can cause discomfort far from the origin. Tools will be taught to identify and treat these causes to alleviate tension from the fascial system.
Fascia also carries blood and lymph vessels. Tensions in the fascia can impede these vessels and slow down circulation. Techniques will be taught to enhance this flow.
All workshops will provide ample opportunity to address questions and difficulties encountered during integration.
